About You

What are your preferred pronouns?
This year, to conserve practice room space, and ease harp moving to ensembles and classes, we will be using a new communal harp rental system. This means that students will not be assigned a rental instrument in a 1:1 fashion, rather each student will have access to a number of harps for practice and performance.
Please note: If you are driving, you should plan to bring your own harp. Rental harps in our harp pool system are limited and priority is given to international students and others flying to Prep. We know that driving with a harp can be difficult, but everyone is in the same situation. If extra harps become available, we will offer them to drivers. Please check here if you are interested.
If you intend on using the pool system, please just write that.

Music Information and Background

Please choose an option to describe your music reading skills. Be honest in your assessment as this will help us get to know you better.
Read the information on the About YAHS page for more information about scholarship requirements.
The Young Artist's Harp Seminar and Competition (YAHS) is planning an in person experience in summer 2022. We will follow the safety recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), along with the recommendations and requirements of Washington College, to provide an environment that is safe for our students, faculty, staff, and audience members. All students, faculty, and staff attending the Young Artist's Harp Seminar and Preparatory Division, along with competitors participating in the live final round of the Young Artist's Harp Competition, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Acceptable vaccines include those approve by the World Health Organization (WHO) or U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Proof of vaccination is required. This applies to all ages that are eligible according to the CDC. YAHS follows CDC guidelines for what is considered fully vaccinated, which may include booster shots. Face masks may be required depending on current CDC guidelines and Washington College requirements. Please note that YAHS will continue to monitor current CDC guidelines, and this policy may change accordingly.
